 !  Computer music Workshops -> 6 - 20 July in Metz

Jean Lochard, Mikhail Matt and Emmanuel Jourdan - Ircam

The principal objective of the computer music workshops is to give the trainees keys to the comprehension of the data-processing tools used in the composition of musical works using electronics. It concerns a range of practical working sessions, in which will be presented in particular the data-processing environment used in works by the guest composers, and will be played or worked upon during the Academy (composition workshop for string quartet and the instrumental workshops for piano, trumpet and voice).

Two areas will be more particularly targeted :

– The interaction of real-time and spatialisation, with the Max/MSP programme,

– Sound analysis/synthesis, AudioSculpt, Modalys and Diaphone programmes.

The initiation workshops will take place the afternoon; the mornings will be devoted to workshops of refinement for the most advanced students, where the following themes may be explored (to be defined on the day according to the needs for the participants):

– Spectral treatments (pfft~)
– The synthesis of physical models in real time
– Languages in Max: Javascript, Java and C
– Optimization DSP
– Introduction to Jitter
– FTM & follow-up on score
– SuperVP in Open Music
