Acanthes 2007 - Mons, 8 - 15 July

This workshop, placed under the artistic direction of Philippe Boesmans, is intended for composers who wish to look further into the instrumental, vocal and scenic aspects of an opera scene.

It will be preceded by a “round table analysis” and will provide composers, thanks to a constant sound control, with the opportunity to make final adjustments to their composition.

It will be accompanied by a work of stage-setting with the collaboration of Matthew Jocelyn, delegate director of Jeunes Voix du Rhin.

Applications by composer candidates to the composition workshop (detailed CV, partitions, recordings as appropriate) shall be examined by a selection committee whose decision is final and without appeal.

Vocal line-up: 4 voices (1 soprano, 1 mezzo, 1 tenor, 1 baritone)

Optional presence of an argument and/or an existing or original text, language to be chosen from: French, English, German, Italian, and Spanish.
