Trainees will be able to take part in one or two phases of Acanthes 2007.
The trainees can attend the all sessions and the concerts of each Acanthes training course. The number of active trainees being limited, the choice of candidates will be made on the basis of applications received and according to the procedure indicated below. Those composers and interpreters, not selected in the “active” category, will be able to request their participation as non-active participants.
In order that trainees will have a global vision of Acanthes 2007, coordination will be established, by means that will be specified later, between the activities at Metz, Luxembourg and Mons.
It is essential that the selected trainees be present throughout the full duration of the Centre.
Reception and inscription at Acanthes office
– Metz (Arsenal, Avenue Ney) on Thursday July 5 from 2pm to 6pm.
– Luxembourg on Saturday July 7 from 2pm to 6pm
– Mons (Le Manège. Mons) on Sunday July 8
The courses will be given either in French, or in English, and will benefit from simultaneous translation, as far as possible.
Active and non-active trainees

– a curriculum vitae (studies, current activities, achievements in the field of the composition, etc... Orchestra conductor curriculum vitae, highlighting their practical experience in orchestra conducting) written in French or English
– scores and a possible recording (CD, cassette) for the trainees who are registered with the composition workshops
– the Ircam technical questionnaire (for the candidates of the composition with electronics workshops)
• Inscription fees:
The cost of inscription is 30 euros net. Bank/payment charges must be paid by the applicant. Payment may be made as follows:
– by French cheque made out to the order of ACDA,
– by cheque established by a foreign bank, drawn on a French bank, made out to the order of ACDA and written in Euros
– by international money order made out to ACDA
– in cash (euros)
The inscription fee will not, in any case, be refunded.
• Inscription deadlines (postmarked):
– January 22 for the composition workshops
– March 26 for the conducting workshop
– May 7 for the other activities
Incomplete applications or applications without payment of the inscription fee will not be considered.
The selected candidates will receive confirmation from February 26 for the composition workshops, from April 23 for conducting workshop and from May 29 for the other activities

Metz :
Active trainee: 220 euros
Non-active trainee: 190 euros
Luxembourg :
Active trainee: 180 euros
Non-active trainee: 120 euros
Mons :
Active trainee: 110 euros
Non-active trainee: 90 euros
The course fees must be paid before the start of classes, either in cash or by French cheque.

Two types of bursary are available, and may be awarded separately or combined:
course fees bursary:
active trainee: 220 € - 190 € - 110 € - 60 €, according to places.
non-active participant: 190 € - 120 € - 90 €, according to places.
accommodation costs bursary: 150 € - 90 €, according to places.
Applications for bursaries must be justified and accompanied by a reference letter and will only be considered after the inscription fees have been paid. Bursaries will be granted after examination of applications.
Half the bursary will be paid on the first day of the course, the other half on the last day. Recipients who leave before the end of the course will not receive the second payment unless their departure is due to unforeseen circumstances.
