In Vivo Danse

This workshop, led by Thomas Hauert and the composer Thierry De Mey, provides the opportunity for five composers to work closely with the dancers from the Zoo Company.
How is it possible to associate, in the same creative process, a choreographic activity with an element of improvisation, and the realization of an electronic work? How does one invent reactive work methods and coherent aesthetic lines between the stage and the studio? This workshop lets participants update, formalize, and test the relationships between writing movement and electronics in vivo: practical analysis, creation of a common vocabulary, definition of shared temporal strategies, all put into practice on the stage. Video support is an integral element of this interaction between dance and music.
Before the workshop, the selected composers can begin their composition work based on captures of danced sequences by the Zoo Company realized by Thierry De Mey.
